What’s new in SPSS version 27?
- Correlations output now includes the ability to show only the lower triangle of values, suppress the diagonal coefficients and calculate confidence intervals.
- One-Sample, Independent-Samples and Paired-SamplesProportionTests have been added to the base system.
- McDonald’sOmega has been added to the suite of reliability analysis procedures.
- RestorePoint functionality that saves data from active sessions that either quit unexpectedly (automatic recovery), or that you explicitly save, are now been included.
- A Reset button has been added to both the chart and table editors. The button resets a chart/table to its original configuration.
- The Data Preparation and Bootstrapping modules are now included as standard functionality in SPSS Statistics Base
- Effect Size estimates have been added to many existing procedures (such as t-tests) that calculate the magnitude of an effect or a relationship between variables.
- Power Analysis has been added to 11 procedures to enable, for example, the calculation of statistical power for specific sample sizes.
- Autorecovery is now standard to reduce inadvertent data loss by regularly saving files to a predetermined recovery folder.
- Cohen’s Weighted Kappa has been added to the existing suite of reliability analysis procedures.
- Bubble Scatter Plots have been added to the Chart Builder.
- A series of pre-built Chart Templates have been included with the software for users to set as default.
What’s new in SPSS version 26?
- Quantile Regression which models the relationship between a set of independent variables and specific percentiles of a target (dependent) variable has been added.
- ROC Analysis which assesses the accuracy of model predictions by plotting sensitivity versus (1-specificity) of a classification test (as the threshold varies over an entire range of diagnostic test results)
- Bayesian estimation has now been added to One-way Repeated Measures ANOVA, as well as the One Sample Binomial and One Sample Poisson analysis procedures.
- The reliability analysis functionality has been updated to provide options for Fleiss‘ MultipleRaterKappa statistics that assess inter-rater agreement.

- Bayesian estimation has now been added to the following tests and procedures

- The Chart Builder now allows users to filter chart data by selecting categorical variable values from the active dataset
- Charts can now be copied as Microsoft Graphic Objects, which allows users to manipulate the pasted charts in Microsoft Office software.
- GLM Profile Plots now include error bars and the ability to choose line charts or bar charts when graphing marginal means.
- GLM Repeated Measures now supports nested models in dialogs. Nesting for repeated measures is limited to between-subjects factors.
What’s new in SPSS version 24?
- The Custom Dialog Builder is given a major upgrade. Among the many enhancements, it’s now much easier for users to define new custom dialogs and control the location where they appear, which field types can be included, the automatic enablement of dialog options and the maximum and minimum number of variables in a target list.
- Search for, and download new extensions with the Extension Hub dialog. Extensions allow users to utilise many new analytical, visualization and data manipulation procedures written in R or Python by third parties.
- New functionality has been added for importingExcel and text files. Users can remove leading and trailing spaces, specify a sheet name for Excel files, ignore hidden rows and columns and view a preview of the file before importing it to help choose the right options.
